The Scent Hotel

The Scent Hotel is as fragrant as its name, thanks to the frangible that blooms in its gardens and the oils

and incense that burn in its pretty rooms.

The obligatory Koh Samui beach views are present and correct,

less expected are the colonial-chic flourishes: model boats, birdcages and vintage bicycles.

There are 11 Sea Breeze Suites (all surveying the pool) and three Beach Front Suites to choose from.

Rooms are styled according to three themes: European (pale palette, dainty glass vases and Provencal furniture).

Chinese (darker woods and furnishings, Chinese silks and antique wardrobes) and Local (the darkest palette of all,

with lots of wood, a grey-and-green color scheme and lanterns made from fishing nets).

The pretty pool is the heart of the hotel, shimmering with green-blue tiles and shaded by lantern-strung trees.

Elegant cream muslin-and-wood deck chairs are clustered around the water.

The hotel also has a clutch of loungers on the public beach, in front of the hotel, where you can swim during high tide.

At low tide, hop on the hotel’s shuttle to Bophut beach.

The Scent Hotel
