Koh Samui Island Beach Paradise.

Koh Samui is Thailand third largest island and is the second most popular island beach destination after Phuket. Located in the warm seas of the Gulf of Thailand it is surrounded by over 80 mainly uninhabited small islands of the Ang Thong National Marine Park.

The beaches of Chaweng and Lamai are the most popular, with the quieter beaches and villages of Mae Nam, Bophut, Bang Rak (Big Buddha) and Choeng Mon being more peaceful. The safe and shallow waters of Choeng Mon beach are especially suitable for families with children.

Samui, unlike the more commercialised Phuket, is definitely for people who love the more laid back, chilled out, beach lifestyle with many beachside activities available both during the day and after dark.  Accommodation to suit every budget is available from 5 star luxury resorts and villas to basic beach bungalows. Most best-hotels and best-resorts are beachside along with many restaurants serving Thai, international and fusion cuisines and numerous cosy and comfortable beach bars and clubs to chill out at and watch the sunset.

Chaweng and Lamai beaches are where the main nightlife attractions of the island are centred with various open air club venues and bars open until dawn and many shops and market stalls along the beach roads open until late.

Samui is fast getting a reputation as being a cosmopolitan paradise destination and has thriving and growing expat community drawn to the islands white sandy beaches, endless coconut trees, crystal clear waters and laid back island atmosphere.

Along with the appeal of its natural beauty, Samui has a wide huge selection of activity and adventure day trips, including safari trips into the islands prime jungle interior, elephant trekking, ziplining, and waterfalls. Several beautiful Temples, aqua park, crocodile zoo and boat cruises to the Ang Thong National Marine Park for snorkelling, kayaking and diving on beautiful untouched, uninhabited islands, Samui has something for everyone. If you want to just chill Thai style on the beach or dance the night away with sea lapping your feet and sand between your toes, Samui is the place.
